September 14th Dylan came into the world. He's so sweet. Bernie and I went to visit him and his mom and dad last Sunday. It was a very special day. Here's Bernie holding Dylan for the first time. A precious moment.
I got a turn too.
I made Dylan a quilt but for some reason didn't get a picture of it when it was done so here are some of the quilt in progress. When I asked Bonnie what colours she would like the quilt to be she told me green and blue. We all know that there are hundreds of shades of green and blue so I decided that I wanted the quilt to look fresh and I selected colours I thought would work for a little boy. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw his little room all decorated in the same green and blue colours I had made the quilt out of.

It was so much fun to work on. I used bamboo batting and a flannel backing. I didn't use any sprays for the basting and instead thread basted it. Dylan's quilt is chemical free.
I've been working on samples for classes coming up this fall. The most recent one is Blooming Baskets. Here are some photos of the work in progress. Yes the sewing room does get a little messy.
The quilt top is finished and is hanging in Creative Edge in North Vancouver. Stop by for a visit. They have a wonderful staff there and beautiful fabrics. Bernie and I will be there on Saturday teaching our machine quilting class.
Today I'm working on the TopStitchers bag for the fall classes.
